African Pokot Old Milk Water Pitcher 2
This wood pitcher is from the Pokot tribal people of Kenya, and is used by Pokot women for storing goat's milk and water. The Pokot drink a dairy product that has been produced by village communities for generations that is made by combining yogurt made of cow’s or goat’s milk and the ashes of the native cromwo tree. These pitchers were treasured and necessary in everyday life. This one is old and has a rich and dark patina with a twined fiber handle for carrying. This pitcher would be a lovely addition to your shelf or favorite table.
